| Here’s how you can make a huge difference to a young ex-prisoner’s life – by becoming a volunteer mentor with the Community Chaplaincy Project.
Volunteers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and faiths and are:
- interviewed and selected on the basis of their suitability to act as mentors
- asked to commit to a period of between one and two years
- provided with a comprehensive training and support package (training is approved by Rainer, specialists in the mentoring field)
- asked to ‘be-friend’ a young man in prison
Becoming a mentor will also add a new dimension to your own life.
Since starting in 2005 we have trained over 140 volunteers and helped over 90 young men to make a fresh start. As you can see from the map below, our volunteers are based all over London.

Do you feel you have what it takes to make a difference to a young man's life?
